Kirin, i can't find that box which says "Enable Overlapped I/O" or something.
Open Shrink -> click edit, then preferences -> under File I/O tab

The box in Shrink options wasn't clicked at the beginning..

The box says: "Enable Overlapped I/O - This might increase ripping performances".

Does increasing ripping performances increases the quality of the image i'll get on the backup of the movie?

Enable Overlapped I/O
I've heard this can actually cause errors. But really don't know, never check the box. If you really want to know, post a question in the Shrink Forum. maybe have the title "Enable Overlapped I/O .. does this help?"

I'm sorry to hear that disabling the box next to 'Enable overlapped I/O ? this may increase ripping performance? didn't do the trick.

But try doing what flip218 said about cleaning your disc, see how that goes, or check to see if your disc is very scratched and all?

Yeah i checked and the disc is very clean.. I don't understand. The error arrives when the decryption process is at 52% (exactly). When at 52%, i hear some bizarre noise in the pc and then the error message appears. Always the same message (see earlier posts).

I tried a second time and it has stopped at 52%.. What's with that number ?? ;) Haha

Anyhow.. i'll try with SmartRipper and then with DVD X Rescue to see if it will help or something..

I'll give more details soon.
Thanks a lot

If any other idea please post, Ty

Is it the PAL version or NTSC (US) version. Since it's ripping and gets @ 54% suspect a couple things. Check your cache file on your harddrive. Make sure you have plenty of room on that drive. Also, another issue sound like it may be the disc. Since you already own a copy, go rent it and see if it can pull from there.

Well.. the movie which stopped at 52% analysing..

I tryed decrypting with SmartRipper.. stopped at 54%

Then tryed with DVD X Rescue and had a reading error..
So i think it's really the source which was damaged. But there were no scratch.. so wtf =)

Thank you.

But.. i have problems decrypting "Three Kings".. stops at 99%.. sucks haha ;)

I tryied with Shrink and then with Decrypter.. not working. I'll try with SmartRipper and if doesn't work.. i'll post a new message.

Thanks you

Is your harddrives setup as FAT32 or NTFS... that could cause a problem with ripping because FAT32 maxes out @ 4gb files.

Yes, the cd/dvd repair kits do work, BUT, remember it's like buffing a car, you're actually removing some of the protective coating... basically makes them more prone to scratches later on

lol, you might want to do some research on Fat32 and NTFS...

Depending on how many harddrives / partitions you have this is how you check the drive to see if it is NTFS or FAT32

My Computer> Right Click on your harddrive, then click properties.. Where it says "File System" it should read NTFS or FAT32.

Check that and then get back with us.
