Thank You

Don't listen to these lame answers. Truth is, you need a professional to help you unlock the account. One can do a rather simple (to a technician at least) unlock using HIRENS BOOT CD to blank out the Administrator account password. Doing a "recovery" like the other person suggested will wipe your data completely so F that!!
Just talk to a couple computer peeps or even dip into a BestBuy and ask a Geek Squad member if you can get a copy or use their Hirens Boot CD or any password reset program.
Sorry friend but even if you had the disc, it is still a little bit involved for non techies to do.

when in bios any settings changed must be saved before rebooting be sure you didn't select discard changes
if boot order can be changed so cd boots before hdd when booting you most probably have to hit enter to get cd highlighted then use arrow keys to move cd to top,this should be done under boot order not hardware devices
@ ddp
can you remember if the boot order can be changed from in BIOS or does it require tapping certain keys on boot to enable temporary changing only

@ddp,
If that is the model I think it is.. Acer aspire 5336...
It has special hardware and it's the only computer I ever ran into that I couldn't reset the password..
A Geek Squad friend brought one to me that a customer had passworded and they didn't know who it was and couldn't get into it.. I tried for a week and never could......

Not stored in cmos on that computer. removing bat. does not clear password. I went all through that. have to get Acer to do it after providing proof of ownership..
