can anyone tell me what the difference is between Ritek 4X DVD-R Media and Ritek Ridata Branded G04 4X DVD-R. they sell both these on supermediastore and trying to figure out which one to buy. Made mistack and bought 200 princo. have 150 left they are junk!!!!

All Ritek (G04) media have (apparently) the same dye. Unfortunately not all Ritek can be classed as grade 'A'. Lower grade Ritek 'B' 'C' or lower can creep onto the market. These Lower grade Riteks are often much cheaper, and hence you take your chances. If you see a price that appears "too good to be true", It probably is.

Ridata is a brand owned by Ritek so the chances are, although not definite, these are grade 'A' media.

Bad luck with the Princo's, ive been there. Although I wasn't "stung" to the level that you have suffered.

thank you. but one more question, are you saying that the 4X dvd-r are lower grade than the 4x GO4 dvd-r? or are the basically the same?

All DVD-r media rated at 4X speed are G04 (Generation 04)

(G05 media is rated at 8X etc etc)

once again thanks. I was a bit confused. Supermedia store had them listed as Ritek 4X DVD-R Media and Ritek Ridata Branded G04 4X DVD-R both at different prices for the same amout of disk. I thought there was a difference between the two. Before i buy these, is there anything better?
