I am using DVDit 2.5 PE with a Sony DVD RW DRU-530A (1.0d) drive. When I try to write a DVD image or DVD Folder, it works fine and creates the image/folder.

However, any time I try to burn a DVD, either straight from the project, or from the image/folder, it gives me the following error message:

Build failed: Unknown error (264449)

I have tried just about everthing, including rebuilding the project. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your time

I'm pretty sure the problem is that you have a menu or movie somewhere that does not have a link "back" to someplace. Every menu and movie has to have a link to it and from it. You cannot simply specify an "end action" with no link to something else (even if you never plan on using that link!). I had this exact problem and once I found the offending menu and made a link back to another menu, it burned fine. I think they fixed this in v5.

Hope this helps!

Some other thoughts on this problem. Once you've made the DVD folder using DVDIt, have you tried to play it in a software DVD player (ie: Power DVD)? If so, did it play? Assuming it did, DVDIt is creating a useable file, the problem simply lies in the burn process (not the menu structure). I have heard that DVDIt2.5 crashes frequently during the burn process. I would suggest burning the disc from another application once DVDIt has created the DVD folder. Honestly, I have never burned from DVDIt, I have always made a DVD folder and then loaded that in a program such as CloneDVD, Intervideo DVD Copy, etc. I hear Nero does a great job of burning from DVD folders. I'd give that a try before you start looking for misslinked menus (as I suggested in my first post).

Good Luck,

Larry
