Microsoft has admitted that it could have done more in the PC gaming space, and that it was probably too focused purely on console. I am sure value knows it is a big jump and if Microsoft did not start selling a closed ecosystem then I am sure Valve would never have considered it necessary to take the risk. I personally think Microsoft should make a stance now and open up the phone and tablet OS to be more like Android.
