article published on 11 November, 2013

Amazon has confirmed that it will be teaming up with the United States Postal Service to deliver packages on Sundays. Yuk, i might drop my prime member ship if this is true. I've had less troubles with UPS, FedEx Ontrac combined then I've had with the USPS. Also i can't remember one package i've gotton via USPS that actually was delivered to my door. I always get a notice the package is at the post office waiting for pick-up, and i don't think the post office will be open on Sunday evening...? Also I've had packages damaged to the point i needed to return the item(s) shipped via USPS. I normally ask vendors if i can ship by anything other than USPS. This is not to mention the hassles i've had with going into the USPS office, normally some very rude clerk is there to annoy everyone. Still remember the one time i waited in line for 20 minutes only to be told, you need to be in that line down there, can you see the sign? Funny the sign was on a 3"x5" card with small lettering and not visible until i stood at the point where the clerk told me, it wasn't facing outward for anyone to see.

Why would you drop your prime membership just because they added on another shipping option? If you don't want stuff shipped by USPS then don't select the option for it.

Most shippers i've seen don't provide you the option as the vendor had exclusive deals to get better prices, so choosing the shipper is not so easy.

That doesn't apply to prime items though. Nothing is going to change for you other than having the option to receive stuff on Sundays when before you did not have the option at all. They are not taking anything away from you or forcing you to do anything. When I order something available for Prime, I get a few different shipping options and now I will probably get one more if I'm ordering something late and want it by Sunday instead of waiting until Monday like I normally would.

I might argue if i need something this fast, i will find a store to purchase it and be done with it. While I can't remember any item needed this quickly where i can't order it on-line and have the convenience of having it dropped off at my house, for me the two main reason why i'll order something on-line is that 1.) it will be cheaper and 2.) It will be at my house when it arrives. No hassles and convenient, but if shipped via USPS, and some vendors you don't have the option I always have that hassles i mentioned earlier. I've payed up to $20 more to order from another vendor as the first would not ship anything other than USPS.

By the way if you get a large package, have you ever had USPS ever leave it at your door... For me that is the sticking point, when ordered i would like it at my house, not 20 miles away a post office that isn't open when i have time to get it, the USPS for my lifestyles is a huge a pain, your use might vary.

USPS leaves packages on my doorstep unless its something I had to sign for. Your initial post stated you would drop your prime membership just because they added the option to receive items on Sunday via USPS. Your other prime shipping options are not going to change.

The point I was making is that you getting (non-prime) items from other vendors who only use USPS has nothing to do with the prime shipping options. Cancellation of your prime subscription would only remove the discounted shipping options that are available to you for no reason because prime has no impact on those other venders to begin with.

It's the same, there isn't a change. You will have another option is all. What are you mad about?
