So heres what i found in the sunday ads for media 7/25/04
Tell me if its good or if you would recommend this media.
Memorex 50 pk 40$ DVD+R
CompUSA 50 pk 20$ DVD-R
Sony 50 pk 40$ DVD+-R
hp 50 pk 40$ DVD+R

I have used the COMPUsa DVD-R that are $20, and they are ok. They are Princo DVD-R, so depending what you are going to do with them you may not want to buy them. Some of them dont work since Princo is not the best quality some discs fail if you try to write a completely full disc. I think it's just hit or miss. I would sugest buying Ritek DVD-R. There are several places to buy them from on the internt w/ free shipping. A 50 pack is about $30 for 4x at blank-cd-cdr.com, same with cdrdvdrmedia.com.

Depends on who makes the blank media. The alleged manufacturer SONY, MEMOREX, etc. may have contracted with somebody else to make the blank media and then stamped there name on it. I would suggest you go to newegg.com and get the 100 PACK of RITEK G04 for .50 a piece after rebate. You can find the manufacturer of the media by buying a pack and then using DVD Decrypter to check the manufacturer. Set DVD Decrypter program to ISO READ and it will tell you the manufacturer.

I didn't like the CompUSA Brand Media, I bought a 50pack of DVD-R's from them, and they are listed at 2x Speed, while they, at least for me, will only burn at 1x.

I've burned with both Memorex +R & Sony -R's and have had good success with both.

Tenny that is a good point, my COMPUsa DVD-R also would only butn at 1x not 2x like it says on the case.
