I hope this isn't redundant but I couldn't find any other relevant info when searching the site.

Every time I use print screen (when I have a DVD paused) it shows up fine in paint (where I save) but when I open the screen shot in Photoshop I have a big black square. Can anyone offer me a quick tutorial or some suggestions?

One more problem I forgot to mention. When I do get the image to show up it's all weird. Instead of seeing a VERY large image that I can resize, my resizing efforts only seem to resize the canvas so I end up with a bit of what I wanted to see.

Shiroh, could you give more info on how PowerDVD can take screen captures? I just went through all its menus in "configuration" and under "Player setting" / "advanced" tab, I configured it to capture to a file, I told it where to put it, and I told it to capture it at the current video window size (which I assume means it will be big -- which is fine since I can always edit it later). OK, now I'm playing the DVD. How can I capture an image? I can't find that option anywhere, but it must be here since it let me configure the options. I just looked through all the left-click options and there's nothing there called "capture" or anything similar. Sorry if I'm just being dense. This is PowerDVD 5.0 if you need that info; it came with my Sony burner. Any help would be appreciated! thanks.

P.S. Just tried alt-PrintScreen (to capture the active window, which was PowerDVD) while the DVD was playing, then I opened Paint to see what I got, pasted the "image," and I got the same thing Delicious got -- a black screen. (BTW when I use "Print Screen" to capture an image of my desktop, it works fine.) Anyone know what's going on? Does PowerDVD capture by some other method besides using "Print Screen" and if so, how? Thanks.

Click the camera icon on the player to capture a frame (Snapshot). Right click on the camera icon to change the basic frame capture configuration. You still need to use the Main Configuration menu to set the advanced options like the the capture file location or custom size pixels.

Just tried it and it worked perfectly. Thanks Veblin (and thanks Shiroh for letting me know I could even do this!). :-)
