when i try to burn a dvd file to a blank dvd rw, it goes right till the end and then says closing and just does not seem to close, the drive just keeps flashing as if its doing something. i have waited about 10 mins and still no joy

Any ideas??

More details please -- like what you ripped what, what you're burning with, hardware & software set-ups, etc. Without that info it's kind of hard to help. :-)

sorry its a AVI file that i converted to dvd using winavi i have tried burning it to dvd using Nero, and alos winavi own burning programme, it always does the same just get to end and says closing etc.

i have a toshiba dvd-r drive

Unfortunately I can't help you with an .AVI file although I'm sure others can. If you rip the original DVD with Decrypter or Shrink, you won't end up with an .AVI file so I'm not sure what you ripped with?
