I have a 52X42X52 CDR burner (1 gig processor, 256MB ram) but I can only get the thing to burn at max speeds of 4-5X. The media I am burning to has the capability of 48X. I am using Adaptec Easy CD Creater 5 Basic as the program? I've selected to burn at max speed but it only ever gets to 4X.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Thanks.

there are a few possible reasons for this behaviour

1. your computer is fragmented therefore causing it to run slow

2. you have more then one writing software and they are conflicting

my advice? - Defragment your computer,
and get Nero v6.3
