Chromebook is a meritless and dumb idea. I've played a little and just would rather have a tablet.

Anyone?? Anyone?? Post your own take on Chromebook. Is it practical compared to a 300 dollar tablet?

My family owns an ipad, Nexus 7, iMac, and 2 Windows laptops. The Chromebook is by far the most used device. My 3 year old daughter uses it with ease and my 9 year old daughter does homework on it since the ipad doesn't allow her to utilize websites that use flash.

We all have different logins so there is no "cross-contamination" of files or user preferences. There is no fear of a virus or malware slowing us down. The battery life is 7+ hours. There is no fear of losing data, documents, settings. The chromebook getting damaged or broken isn't as big of a deal as my ipad or imac getting something spilled on it since the Chromebook only cost $250. Typing is easier with the Chromebook vs. the ipad or nexus.

Obviously the Chromebook works for us, but might not be a good choice for someone needing AutoCad or Photoshop. I advocate to all my friends and relatives (especially the ones who call me with tech questions), to buy a Chromebook.
