I would rip with File mode, also make sure you have the latest version of DVDDecrypter (3.2.3.0), to answer your question, almost all DVDs are larger then 4.3GB (the amount a +/-R(W) disk can hold), sense the DVD you are backing up is bigger then 4.3GB, you have to compress the files in order for them to fit on a DVD+/-R(W) disk.
Second, as far as i know, no Decrypter does not connect to shrink, how i do things is:
1st, Decrypt the DVD to a premade folder that is named the same name as the movie.
2nd, open Shrink and select "Open Files" then browse to the folder and select it (if you get a "there is no DVD media in this folder" error, make sure you selected the EXACT folder that you copied the files to.
Third, uncheck DTS (you can keep what you want but, if you can go without DTS then do, it frees up a lot of space) I also prefer to remove all subtitles. Keep the compression set to "Automatic" because Shrink will then only compress the DVD as much as it needs to. I would do "Deep Analysis" this makes it so the DVD is filled and that shrink does not under (or over) compress.
If you want to click and walk away, put an EMPTY disk in the drive (or check "erase a non-empty RW without prompting") before you start deep analysis.
If all goes according to plan, Shirnk should do the analysis, reencode the video, compress it and burn the final product with Nero all without your intervention.
P.S.Drive C:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4 GB, if you get this error and have no other drive then I would make sure file splitting is set to 1GB (under "Settings", IFO Mode.
