Hi i was wondering...maybe a very simple question to answer; Many dvd's now at this point in time register on my computer as saying that they are 7.1 GB normally, is it alright for me to just burn that size file on a dual layer dvd + R DL? More specifically i have a couple band of brothers episodes on dvd that i would like to back up and they are around 7.2 GB. They obviously don't fit on a regular 4.7GB cd. Do i just basically need to burn the dvd with a dual layer cd? Is there any other basic steps that i need to do? I just don't want to waste a dvd because they are expensive. I have a sony DRX-700UL dvd burner.

It is entirely up to you. At $15.00 +(USD) each I surely couldn't afford it -

I think you mean DVD and not a CD as there are no dual-layered CD's made.
Again, if you wish to spend the money, go for it - :)
If it was me, I'd stick to the old way of using DVD Shrink until the prices come down on the D/L discs, But then again, I work for a living, I'm not independently wealthy :(
