Thanks to new cloud-based tech, cable set-top box users are starting to get access to YouTube around the globe, even on legacy SD boxes.
For example, local cable provider UPC Hungary (in Hungary) added a YouTube app to its boxes earlier this month, marking the first time the video service has been available on TVs via a legacy cable box.

Streaming content on set top boxes don't gonna save any cable companies. They already milk the people for so many years. Is time for the people to say Good bye to them.
Too little...far too late...cable isn't worth anywhere near what they charge! I remember they even charged an additional $2 for volume control! Absolutely ridiculous! No one minds paying a fair price for a product or service! However, none of them charge a fair price. I don't know what satellite prices are but it seems lower than cable. At least, from what I've seen of Dish Network commercials.
