Review: The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 in all of its Super AMOLED glory

article published on 1 July, 2014

Samsung, the unequivocal king of the Android world, has released its best tablets to date, the Galaxy Tab S line, hoping to strike directly at the Apple Air and iPad Mini with Retina. Over time, Samsung has pumped out tablet after tablet, all with confusingly similar names and features, and in fact, the Galaxy Tab S is the eleventh tablet from the company in 2014 alone. Each tablet iteration ... [ read the full article ]

You got one of these? Nice one Andre.

Ooooh... the the 8.4" version has the exact same specs (@369ppi). 100 times contrast of conventional LCD displays. Scheissen! (maybe smaller battery 4900 mAh).

The graphics accelerator for these beasts is an ARM-based Mali-T628 MP6 GPU. If anyone's interested.

I got the 32gb model of the 10.5 as a Best Buy exclusive special! This thing is awesome and it is my first tablet in 4 years that I am keeping to replace my Acer A500. I already have it rooted and now time to remove all the Samsung bloat! I can't wait until apps become available to manipulate the processor to run faster! So far the battery life is impressive and that is saying something considering the power user I am.

@harhumph coolant. How much?

The things have yet to arrive in Oz (later this month) but you can bet they'll cost 50% more than in the US.

The 32gb model cost 550. It is only available on best buy online, not in store. I also got a 128gb microsdxc from amazon and it works in the tablet perfectly!

@harhumph I'd be happy for you if I wasn't so jealous... ;)

I really like the 8.4" version. Shame that it's white... and, whilst it's not that big a deal, I still don't understand why they don't back the things in aluminium. Heck, it's not that expensive... we drink cans of the stuff! If they truly want to wrest the market from Apple...

Here ya go. You might be able to score it cheaper. As per usual, the only one available at launch is the 10.5 16gb wi-fi @ $599 in white.
