Report: Sprint drops pursuit of T-Mobile US citing regulatory issues

article published on 5 August, 2014

Just hours after it was reported that French carrier Iliad is looking to increase their bid for the U.S.' fourth largest carrier, T-Mobile US, it appears their main suitor Sprint is ending their pursuit. Sprint, now owned by Japanese carrier Softbank, is said to be dropping their bid due to the insurmountable regulatory hurdles that such a merger would have caused in the U.S. Anti-trust ... [ read the full article ]

Perhaps if Sprint went back to their roots when they put out a really robust and reliable system way back in the PCS days, they wouldn't be in such a mess.

Their service outright SUCKS! It's the slowest, most intermittent and unreliable. They may have improved their customer service but only at the sincere expense of the quality of their bottom-of-the-barrel service.

My fiancee has them and it's bad!.........IN CHICAGOLAND OF ALL PLACES TOO!!! Chicagoland is a cellular MECCA.

Nah, sprint just needs to do what T-Mobile does...provide equally terrible service with lots of lies from the salespeople and rubber contracts that will let them screw all their new customers royally once the sign-on rush slows down.

You are legitimately the only person who I have ever heard complain about T-Mobile. There are no contracts, the best prices, and unless you are in the swamp, great speeds.

I've been with T-Moble for eight years now and haven't had many problems to speak of.

You haven't noticed that KB relishes negativity around here?

I do try to find the problems with things...that's part of "always prepared". But seriously, T-Mobile screwed me royally. I signed up with no contract, bought my own phone, and they put me on a contract without my permission later. There was a service agreement, which they failed to honor. When I canceled I had to pay a termination fee for a "contract" that they say I agreed to by paying my bill. Now they are offering the exact same deal they used to screw me over once again...why would I expect them to do anything other than what they did before?

Agree.
Same thing happen to me, and also another small issue. But I stray it up before I cancel my service with them.
T-Mo is not diff. from any other scamer corporation.
They do funny things to their own customers:
- They approach you with good deals in one hand, while in the other hand they are so ready to stub you in the back.

P.S.
- CORPORATE GREED is the name of the game now on day !
- We Vote with our money: BOYCOTT !!!

Just saying.

In deed. Verizon may be expensive, but they give exactly what they promise...people that got unlimited internet contracts years ago still have it. T-mobile ends up being almost as expensive after all is said and done, with terrible service. One nice thing about capitalism is that you have choices. T-Mobile screwed me so I'll never use them again. Sony removed OtherOS and then bribed the judge, so I'll never buy anything from them unless I fully intend to remove all the stock software and features right off. Stag Arms pays taxes to the government of Connecticut who is anti-gun so I don't buy rifles from them anymore. WalMart pressures their suppliers to move jobs overseas (and they stopped carrying semi-autos) so the only reason I go there is to move the toys to the freezer section and the frozen food to the toy section. Etc, Etc, Etc.

WAS with Tmo for 10 years. No lies man. Best customer service, credited bill every time they made mistake, no fraudulent charges, no misleading.

TMo service is 10 times better than Sprint. Faster, less drops, less dead areas (Chicagoland-which has stronger cellular presence than just about anywhere.)

If you somehow got screwed, it's probably because your head was..............up your......I mean in the clouds should I say, when you spoke to them. Must do you due diligence man, educate yourself on what you're engaging and LISTEN. If they made a mistake like putting you on contract when you didn't know then shame on you.
