Earlier in the week, Sprint and Sharp announced a new line of smartphones, the Aquos Crystal, which they promised would have designs not seen before.
The first of the line, the 5-inch Aquos Crystal, will sell for just $239 off-contract (a huge discount compared to the $600 iPhone or Galaxy S, for example) and features an edge-to-edge design that has no bezel, a fantastic look for a phone.

I don't understand the no bezel obsession. It seems like more of a technology goal then one people actually want or will use. Especially when 99% of people throw their phone in a case on day 1.
Well, as some tablets illustrate well, overly-thick bezels do suck. But I agree, that hasn't been a real problem with phones for a long time, now. In my opinion, it's more marketing trying to create the demand, rather than any actual demand from consumers, that's pushing this. Sort of like the 4K-display phone silliness...

Yes too thick of bezel is annoying. I'd rather have it be a few mm thicker than have a half inch of extra bezel all around.
