BioShock now available for iOS

article published on 30 August, 2014

I'm guessing there are plenty of people who never played it when it came out, and if it was worth $60 to me when it was new maybe it can be worth $15 to them when it is new to them. (especially if they don't happen to have a console and thus have no use for the $10 used copy at gamestop).

As for battery use, most intensive mobile games suck batteries dry. Android might have a slight advantage on some models thanks to larger aftermarket batteries, but it still isn't much better. The thing about ports like this is that to really enjoy them you need two hands on a controller...that pretty much eliminates playing them on the bus or while waiting in the doctor's office or whatever. Since most devices only pull 2 amps under maximum use and 2 amp chargers are common enough to be sold at gas stations, battery life isn't going to be a big issue for most. Also, remember that many mobile devices have some form of HDMI output, effectively turning them into settop boxes. An iPhone might not be an Ouya, but with enough ports and a good controller it comes close enough for something that you can still take with you when you leave the house. Personally I'd prefer to see an Android port...but I guess they figured that they would release the first ARM-based port on a platform with fewer users so if there was some terrible issue they would get fewer complaints.
