Nice article. I wouldn't have known otherwise. I just checked my wife's laptop and it does have the LS-15 power cord.

My Lenovo netbook has that cord. When I went to the website and tried to enter the info it asked for the serial number, which was printed on a paper label on the bottom of the netbook and is now unreadable from being where my fingers touch it every time I pick it up. It seems here is where my recall ends.

Just did a quick search and it looks like you can pull the netbook's serial number right from Windows.

This is just the first result I came across, so I'm not sure if it's outdated. If it doesn't work then maybe worth doing a more refined search: http://blogs.technet.com/b/aviraj/archi...-using-wmi.aspx

Thanks for the tip, but it didn't work for me.
I get the response, 'SerialNumber' but no number appears.
I will search further.

That was quick. Seems the Lenovo S10-3 has a different command
>wmic baseboard get serialnumber

This is what worked for me.
Thanks for the heads up.
