EA CFO Blake Jorgensen has said this week that he believes tablets are key to the future of gaming, especially as they get more powerful moving forward.
"What gets us the most excited is the power, the computing power, of mobile devices and the speed at which that's growing," says Jorgensen. "What that might mean is that a tablet, three or four years from now, has more power than what ... [ read the full article ]

And this is a perfect example of someone running a company who shouldn't be. EA is a gaming company and this guy hasn't a clue.
Can tablets be more powerful than consoles down the road? Sure, if the console manufacturers are complete numbskulls. Why in the world does this EA exe think tablet hardware will advance and consoles wouldn't?
Why does he think people are going to want to give up gaming on their big screen?
This guy isn't thinking about gamers, he's thinking about how to push more microtransaction-gaming which is just about all tablet gaming is good for.

Ah, ok. Yeah that's better.
But you know, in all seriousness, EA does have some damn good games; or atleast they'd be damn good if EA would quit trying to be so anti-consumer with them.
BF Hardline- could have had potential but right now just a rushed cash-grab.
BF4- rushed release to compete with CoD = a mess which DICE is still trying to sort out.
Sims- online only; what the hell were they thinking.
...and we can go on and on.
So SO many are waiting anxiously for the new Star Wars Battlefront, myself included. I'm just afraid that EA is going to push the devs in to making it just another CoD style, run-n-gun competitor instead of a proper successor to Battlefront

What a joke EA has become. Make statements that believe tablets are the future of gaming but make fun of Nintendo's tablet style controller that is a bridge between both classic controller gaming and tablet gaming with interaction through both calling it a gimmick and a waste and hard to develop for. Hypocrites.
Maybe that is why if I end up buying an EA game it is in the bargain bin or a massive online sale.

Always, your future tablets might be more powerful but my future gaming rig is still over 10x more powerful.
i will be the only person never to own a tablet, i just cant see there logical consumer potential. Tablets should have stayed in the Doctors offices and warehouses.
