The Pirate Bay brings back moderators to cleanup thousands of fake torrents and spam comments

Earlier this month, The Pirate Bay relaunched after nearly two months of downtime but with one group notably missing: moderators.
Now that security issues have been resolved, the moderator team is back with access to the back end of the site.

Great but you still have issues
And major ones to overcome like for instants you need to not only ban them you need to remove the option to create a new account by blocking there ip address from the system this will keep people from making ton's of bogus accounts and files

@ScorpNZ, I agree! It's the first thing hackers hide is their ISP...The rest follows:/
I read an interview with ' Black Dragon ( one of the guys/hackers who hacked into the euro cap and trade headquarters and would have made billions had his partner not messed up ...made for extremely interesting reading! He laid a lot of it out very clearly...so yh ISP is nothing lol...and we're basically talking spammers etc here let alone full on hacks!

My experience has been a bit different. I have found myself blocked when some spammers were found to operate through the same ISP. I would suggest TPB use the method that KAT uses. The posts by known good, verified and genuine posters have a crown against their posts. These one can rely on blindly.

I believe you actually meant dynamic as they can be changed at will by the isp as you have said,static isn't

now that you mention it yep dynamic is what i meant but only could think of static... ty for the correction
I do remember when all providers used dynamic addresses... it allowed them to charge customers slightly less (read "make more money off same price") because no one would think of using the lines more than a few hours a week. after all, Johnny couldn't be allowed to keep mom from gossiping on the phone all day (sic)
but now with dedicated cable up 24/7 most have computers running all the time. only mobile computers use Dynamic but they don't need to.... especially with the new v6 standard
and this is digressing, my appologies to those who are offended but while out here a think but probably dont answer question...

Even if all IPs were static, blocking IPs would have work last century, now most hackers use 'zombies' to do ALL their dirty work. Even small botnets number thousands of zombies.
It is pretty much like AV protection which hasn't changed much in 30 yrs, it was effective last century but not today. McAfee claimed it is only 10% effective (by an executive leaving for greener pastures) and Norton 60% which is not credible. Neutral parties estimate 20-30% protection. That is why ultra-expensive security has been developed and is being used. Non of the banks that were hacked used next generation security software.
