Dam that's a hefty price,must be that logo & green paint that sends it over the edge.I'd rather have a transcend store jet,they look better,have a rubber cover & you can drop em' they still work.Drop that beast you'll be up for another one me thinks.However you lot all know it 2tb is still far too small

Could have been worse on the price. That's actually ballpark (price-wise). A quick search on New Egg has 2TB ext HDD prices ranging from $85-$150. As far as the Trascend Stor Jet goes, I have the model you're talking about. Sure, it's a rugged case...but the cord input is FRAGILE. I've had to re-solder it twice, now.
I REALLY hope Sony follows suit on this. I have six games, and I have to uninstall one if/when I purchase another. 500GB is woefully inadequate. At least my XB-1 has a TB...

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but....
Why the fuss over 2TB. Is this the maximum that the xb can handle?
I would hate to think i had to buy several 2TB drives for my games collection.

Yeah, I was talking about an external. I know I'm probably going to have to to do the internal upgrade, but I was hoping to avoid voiding the warranty.

Six games plus DLC fills it quickly. (Arkham Knight, MK-X, etc...)

You can certainly use a bigger drive, at least as far as I know. but this is a decent drive, with USB 3 - required for game data/app storage on the XBone - that actually is NOT crazily overpriced (which is rare, for "official" console gear).

The 360 needs a 2tb just for dlc,emu & games,some xbla's & just the required installed content of some games usually multi disc.If you were a collector or hoarder & over the life of the console were to purchase numerous games when on sale like i do you'd need 4 2tb minimum (assuming you wan to play without using the disc on a jtag).Keep in mind that microsoft tout these consoles to be the centre of a media hub,so you still have to factor in movies,tv shows etc,it soon becomes apparent 2tb is woefully inadequate.Fast forward to now,how big are those xbone games once installed,PC gamers have been aware for sometime that a lot of space is required

Oh, sure, I get it. I was just surprised, considering I have over 85 games installed on my laptop - not exaggerating, just counted - not including general applications and various media (ebooks, movies, TV/anime, and so on). And several of those games appear on the consoles. On my - now defunct, due to a mobo failure - desktop, I had 2 TB of storage and 150+ games, MANY of which were "AAA"-type and had multiple DLCs, and it had even more various media and apps than my laptop, as well o.O' .
Where's all that bloat coming from on the consoles, FFS?! Yeesh.

Crazy bad compression? That's the only thing I can think would be different. My PC can handle even the highest compressed data, video, graphics. I don't know how well a console would handle it.

lmao..85 games would be quite conservative imho,in actual fact i think you could do with more a lot more :p
Had a quick look at the size of my pc game folder,there's 36 folders,works out about 100 games at a total of 176gb total installed size,that's unbelievable it's far less than i thought it would be.Game size ranges from 30mb up to 11gb.An xbox 360 game averages around 5.5gb per game whether it's extracted to a folder like a pc game or extracted to a GOD format.Obviously 360 games range in size from say 300mb up to 8gb per disc,however most are quite large,chances are its to do with hd graphics as to why they are so big,not to mention the multiplayer content on top of that again.Those multi disc games really do take up a stack of space
