hey i installed my xecuter 2.3b lite with xapter and plugged my hard drive and dvd-rom back in, but when i turned my xbox on, the 2 blue leds on the chip light up and the led on the external switch, but the xbox eject button flashes red and green, beeps, then turns off. then it turns back on, flashes red and green, beeps, then turns back off. the modchip and switch also come on. then the xbox turns back on flashes red and green and stays on. the chip also comes on. the eject tray doesn't eject. i didn't use all the wires that came with it. all i used was the wire to connect the chip to the switch, and plugged the d0 wire from the xapter into the d0 point. also, screwed down the xapter. didn't solder because i have a 1.0 (solder already in there) are there any wires that i should've used? i was told by a site that was all i needed if using the xapter. and i've now found that even if i take the chip and xapter out, it still does the 2 false starts and frag! PLEASE HELP ME OUT!

edit: never mind i got it to work!!!

Hey madmiles,

I am having the exact same problem - driving me crazy..! Can you tell me what you did to get it working? I am close to abandoning the adapter and just soldering it in, but if there is a way to get it to work, I'd appreciate it if you'd tell me...

Cheers,

all i did was unscrew the xapter and take the d0 wire out and then reinstall it. you have to get it aligned perfectly. just keep trying. i read that that was what you had to do in another post and thought uhh no it is perfectly aligned. but i guess it wasn't. just keep trying. oh yeah and see if it starts up normally with the dvd ide cable unplugged from the motherboard. it did for me but when i plugged it in, then it would screw up. if it does, you know you're gettin somewhere.

Thanks for the reply mate - I will try a few more times.. One more thing: the D0 point... does the wire literally rest in there because as far as I can see, there is no way for it to go through that hole...

yeah you pretty much just have to push it down as far as you can. it doesn't go very far. that's why i was wonderin if you could just solder the wire to the point to make it more stable because i'm constantly moving my box. do you think i could do that without screwin anything up?

Well - I gave up and soldered it instead... Funny thing is, turned out to be a real doddle. The d0 point is a little tricky. In answer to your question, I can see no reason why you shouldn't solder yours into the d0 point - wont make any difference. Just don't cross any of the other tracks. The space you have to work with is tiny! Good luck with it...

Just take your time with it. You can also tape the wire down to hold it in place to solder it. Just a quick touch should do it.
