Yahoo has infuriated a few of its email users today as it tests out a feature that will block access to your email if you are running an ad blocker.
Users trying to log in to their Yahoo email saw an error message that told them to "please disable ad blocker to continue using Yahoo Mail."
After receiving complaints, Yahoo confirmed the move. "At Yahoo, we are continually developing ... [ read the full article ]

in my opinion all services for email and you tube like sites that depend on ads for revenue should block people using their service that have add blocker installed. people cannot expect something for nothing that isinsain.if you want to watch content on you tube you should have to set threw a 30 second too a minute add to pay for the service.

Ad's bring in revenue and yes, you should watch a 30 second ad before a video or movie on Youtube however we shouldn't be banned from using the site if we use an Ad blocker. My issue with Ads is that they repeat constantly and play multiple times through a movie or a song. I think a 45 second long ad for a 3 minute song is ridiculous. Furthermore, pushing video ads to mobile phones is ridiculous. The majority of users on mobile phones have a data limit, these ads are killing that.

I haven't experienced any problems logging into Yahoo Email and I have an Adblocker app installed, plus Ghostery. If by chance it becomes a problem, I'll dump yahoo. I only use it as a secondary email anyway. Gmail is my primary one, and with Mozilla Thunderbird it meets my needs.

I dumped Yahoo well over a year ago and switched to Zoho mail. Zoho had 2 factor authentication, IP blocking, apps, etc and worked great. I also use Gmail, but prefer Zoho. Yahoo is the absolute worst these days.

Man.......you're a true-blue do-gooder aren't you???
Without unleashing on your comment, I'll sum up with one statement.
In general, the ads are okay to present.
But more specifically, if ads are presented then we as users have every right to block said ads.....AND EVERYTHING ELSE WE CHOOSE TO BLOCK without retaliation like Yahoo is doing here.
Kinda like the FCC ruling when paraphrased: For every signal sent, another has the right to intercept said signal.
In this case, the signal is the ad and we have every right to block w/o retaliation.
Man O man.........you would be a brutal hypocrite if you download movies/music illicitly after saying the comment defending ads. Let's hope you're not a hypocrite.
Add to this, your English, spelling and grammar suck!
