Verizon goes all-in to get switchers

article published on 28 December, 2015

Verizon has decided to take the fight to its growing rivals, offering up to $650 to switch carriers and end your contract early. Says the company: "Now is the best time to switch to Verizon and receive up to $650 per line. Verizon will buy out your contract and cover early termination fees and device or lease buyouts from your old wireless provider. A family of four who've been waiting ... [ read the full article ]

Verizon is still an arrogant company that rarely takes accountability for its mistakes and errors, especially with billing.

They are still also dramatically overpriced. All of their plans revolve around the antiquated 59.99 pricing plan for 900 minutes...even though it's not that particular package. Still, 3GB of data for 45/month plus 20 for line fee plus taxes plus the monthly charge for the FULL RETAIL COST OF A JUNK PHONE THAT WILL BE WORTHLESS IN LESS THAN 2 YEARS at 24/month.

So...45+20+10+24 = 99

Who the f*ck willingly pays 99 a month for cellular service?

And those that are switching to cellular for ALL their internet surfing to save a couple bucks are IDIOTS!

Cellular surfing to replace at home internet is not feasible.

When Verizon prices plans at 10GB of data with only throttling after the cap has been reached and NOT shutting data off completely, coupled with unlimited talking/texting for LESS THAN 64.99/month

ONLY THEN will it be a "good deal"

Verizon customers really like taking it up the tailpipe. Businesses I understand their need for Verizon but the average consumer really gets jacked by them.

Lousy company with pretty damn good service.

I have absolute zero issues with my current provider. Does absolutely everything I need. Unlimited talk/text/data for $55 a month with my own factory unlocked cell phone that I didn't pay a 1000% markup on.

The majority of consumers have no need for the likes of Verizon. Drop that unrealistically overpriced plan and switch to a non-contract provider. Use your extra cash to upgrade the speed of your home internet.

I agree, hearme0. Verizon is drastically overpriced, just as AT&T is. Both Sprint and T-Mobile have (finally) started to get the message from consumers.

Before our phones' amortized cost and the obligatory sea of fees, my true unlimited-everything plan with T-Mobile costs $100/mo. for 2 lines, and they offer comparable fully prepaid plans, as well (in other words, roughly $50/line).
