I have a factory installed Panasonic DVD player in my 2004 Suburban that will not play backups...

I have tried using DVD XCOPY with DVD -r, DVD +r, and DVD +RW, as well as using Intervideo DVD COPY PLATINUM with +r and -r discs...no luck at all...it sits and thinks and errors out.

Any suggestions with another software process...or any other suggestions would be helpful.

thanks and peace,
jay

Make sure the media you are using is compatible with the Dvd player.

I have been unable to determine what model of Panasonic this OEM player is, so that I can research which media might work best...

If you have any ideas, please do not hesitate to offer them. Or please suggest media that you think might work for this player.

Try Ritek Brand media. They usually work well on most players.

Ritek ridatas dvd-r can be found at http://www.meritline.com

I use Ritek and have never had any problems. In addition to media the way you burn you discs can determine compatibilty. I am an ex xcopy/express user but I changed to using DVD Decryptor (to rip DVD), DVD121 (to compress) and RecordNow to burn. You'll probably find using recordnow or Nero will resolve your panasonic player prob.

I have a Panasonic DVD-CV52, and the only disk's I can get reliable performance from are Radius 2X DVD-r.
Hope this helps you.
