The movie and tv apps for Kodi smell like Popcorn Time. Internet providers will certainly send you a letter on this one if your not protected.

There quite literally is no effective "protection" from having these streams detected. All current methods are merely placebos.

First off...........why are YOU a "newbie"??? I've been banned so many times I can't count but it's been a few years so perhaps the same happened to you??? :)

As for Kodi......IT'S TOTALLY POPCORN TIME. The most dangerous app EVER. Downloading torrents to your local drive behind the scenes is LUNACY! So I agree with you.

I quit using PT after my wife got DMCA notice from ATT pegging us for downloading a crap DISCONTINUED show called "Selfie". 30 min comedy and we got caught. Never heard anything after that tho.

The most popular addon for KODI is Exodus.
This simply streams the videos from all the websites online hosting the content. No torrents at all. Just normal HTTP traffic = no warnings.

The developer of Exodus has actually retired. I forget the whole story but he actually put code into Exodus that if you used it you would help DDOS attack some sites or people that he didn't like. The code has been removed but at the same time, the developer "retired" over it. I don't know if he'll stay retired, but right now Exodus is not being updated.
