I been using DVD Shrink for a while without any problem until now. After I use DVD Decrypter I went as usal to DVD Shrink and when I want to open the file(movie)I got this. DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue..copy protection error..Failed to open file xxxxx. I tried several times with the same result and is only with two movies; I do not have problems with other movies.Thank you.

Hi,
Have you tried doing the whole process through Shrink (rip and burn)? It may also help to run DVD43 while Shrink does it's thing.
DVD43:
http://dvd43.com/
You'll also need patin coffin for DVD43 to run:
http://www.mtc-comp.com/vso/patin-couffin_setup.exe
At some point or another almost everyone runs into a title or two that are persnickety so you have to change gears and try different tools or methods.

Looking at the DVD Shrink instruction guide, I noticed it suggested using DVD Decrypter in instances where the Program had problems with encryption. This is unusual to have DVD Shrink run into an encryption problem with an already (properly) decrypted file from Decrypter. jotabote, did you read the guide to properly set up and use both programs? There are good guides here at AD and some comprehensive guides at Doom9.org that go into detail.
Nephilum's solution could well work. But, when used properly, I have not heard of DVD Decrypter not ripping files. Under tools you have a variety of selections under settings. Check the guide and see if everything is set as needed. The program starts up in default mode and sometimes things need to be changed.

Thank you Nephilim and Bribear. I always use DVD Decrypter to rip and DVD Shrink to encode and burn in many movies. I don't know what DVD43 and Patin Coffin does. Do they replace a DVD Decrypter? I don't think that my problem has something to do with my Settings, because I copied more than a dozen movies, but maybe I'm wrong. This problem is only with (2) particular movies. Any other sugestions will be apreciate.

Hi,
DVD43 is a small tool that runs in the background and dynamically bypasses the copy protection on DVDs and patin coffin is a driver layer that DVD43 uses to run.
I'd recommend installing patin coffin and then DVD43 :)

It may be a problem with the discs. If the DVD43 doesn't fix the problem, check the discs. Or you may want to do that first. Your choice. Download DVDInfopro (free) off the net and run the check. What are those movies that are so difficult to record?

I have had good success letting DVD43 run in the background during the ripping process. Lately, while backing up discs larger than 4.38, I've been ripping to my HD with DVD Decrypter in file mode(with DVD43 in the background), then running DVD Shrink with deep analysis, then burning to disc with DVD Decrypter. Very very good success rate, no coasters and no CSS problems.

Jotabote,
I think I know what your problem is. if you are only selecting movie files only in decrypter I have found if you use shrink to open this folder the error occurs. when you open shrink next time before even opening the movie click on reauthor. This will open an explorer type screen on the right hand side. From here select where the ripped files are kept and click OK. Shrink should then be able to analyze the movie without errors.
Hope this helps!

I was going to give some good instructions, but since we're dealing with a pirate, I'll just say, may he be visited in his dreams by the movie 4 Horsemen.
