Adobe Encore DVD- Drop Shadow for Subpictures?

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if there was anyway to create drop shadows instead of highlight colors for the subpictures. Basically, when I select an item in the menu, I want a drop shadow to appear. Thus far, all my attempts that seemed to work in photoshop did not transfer over to Encore. Any ideas?
