Hi Folks, I?ve a question as I?m a newbie to this dodgy box malarkey :)

A mate of mine has got a Eurovox TX from a friend. He has the basic N*L package piped into his gaff ?Dublin?. ?From reading previous comments I'm not sure if this is mmds or analogue!?
He has tried scanning for channels however channels are scrambled. I believe it?s the firmware which came with the box initially ?no flashing?.

So my question! Will the Eurovox TX work with this scenario?
Previous comments are suggesting its for C*****S mmds only!

Any info would be appreciated.

The eurovox TX is only for CH**us MMDS only, dont confuse mmds & analogue the are different things,..MMDS is the technology used to transmit the tv signal digital or analogue.

Any info would be appreciated.

are you an existing CH**us customer ? do you have an MMDS antenna on your house/roof ?
if so the Eurovox TX works a treat, I have set some up in different MMDS areas with no problems, can't speak for the BOX T,..the dreambox 500_t is another option but they are quite hard to come by.

Good evening everyone. What agreat site. I'm hoping someone can answer my questions:-
Is Ashbourne 1.a MMDS C****s N*L area , is it 2.pure cable or 3.Analogue?
Will a Eurovox 2008 work in Ashbourne if it's pure cable and if so can anyone please let me have the frequencies.
Has anyone in Ashbourne had any problems with this?
Many thanks in advance.

I did some testing around ashbourne with different boxes.
Ashbourne is Analogue only. It could be Chorus and NTL analogue I am not sure. I do know that near the village (crestwood etc) its chorus MMDS which would need the TX (assuming you have the mesh dish)
I am considering buying the Antenna and the TX for my folks.
Just need to do a bit more research on it first.

Analogue only is not possible via mmds and via ntl mmds there are no analogue channels.
Beside that you need a cable box for ntl mmds as mentioned several times in this thread.

I had a look at few theads but some of them say that will work only with the right downconvertor and power insertor, dont have a clue of what they are.Does this means that the eurovox 2008 might not work on NTL MMDS if these are wrong? the area is Rush, North dublin
thanks

I know for sure that the eurovox Max V works in the malahide area, however before scanning change the symbol rate to 6875,.

Do you think a eurovox 2008 is not a cable box?

My question is if the eurovox max 2008 works with any NTL MMDS or you need to have a particular downconvertor and power insertor. Is the question clear this time or do you want me to ask in another language?

you did not mention any other equipment that ntl may have installed at your home so I'm assuming there's none.
based on your information the eurovox Max V should work, ntl don't use the dvb-t system on their MMDS network so the BOX-T or eurovox TX will not work, ntl use the dvb-c standard on their MMDS system which is what the max is for,...a few more questions..
did you connect the cable from the antenna directly into the TV ? do you get any channels ? before ntl & chorus joined & became UPC who did you get your tv bill from ? do any of your neighbours have digital tv through an antenna like yours ? if so what indoor equipment have they got & what name is on the box NTL ? Chorus ? or both
