DVD Shrink freezes when I click Backup

Things were working fine, then I replaced my hard drive. WinXP Pro SP2. Now DVD Shrink reads a disk, shows its contents, but when I hit backup, it becomes unresponsive. Tried on several DVD's. Tried full disk and re-authoring. Ideas?

Same thing has been happening to me. I have XP with SP2 also. I really want to get Shrink working! Please help.

If you can go back and redo without SP2, I have heard about some people having problems after installing SP2.

Hi all. :)

I'd suggest you uncheck "Enable burning with Nero" in DVD Shrink "Edit >> Preferences >> File I/O" menu, or update to Nero's latest version. ;)

Unchecking the box took care of the freezing issue for me. Thank you! Updating Nero did not. Anyone know a work-around that allows using Nero?

You're welcome. :)

I don't know a workaround for using Nero, but I do know another one for burning via DVD Shrink. ;)

- Download and install DVD Decrypter (http://www.dvddecrypter.com).
- When clicking on DVD Shrink "Backup!", choose "Burn ISO image with DVD Decrypter" as the target.
- Tick the box at the bottom of the "Backup!" window so DVD Shrink will automatically launch DVD Decrypter to burn.
