Do I have to use that PCI SATA Card? Can't I just use the SATA ports on my Motherboard?

if you have a VI2461A chipset then you will not need the sata PCI. If you like just hook the xbox up to your pc and see if the drive is recongized. If it is not, then you will need the Sata PCI card.

sorry its VI 6421A NOT 2461A as in my last post.

ok good tut but i have a question. my xbox is already flashed to 1.5... and i have 1 sata cable that was already in my computer, my xbox is open.. how do i just get 1.6 firmware on my xbox 360?

thanks for the post =).But i do have aquestion and this will probly be a noob question so please be gentle ...lol

ok, i want to rip my original 360 games with an hitachi drive? is this possible? i only see people talking about flashing a samsung drive so that you can dump the original's? i usually hotswop but allas... its getting tiresome and it seems to not work that great anymore so i wanna try something else.

Is there a way i can flash my hitachi to do this? if so? how? where? what? lol
