Region problem with DVD shrink PLZ help

Tonight as I was trying to backup with DVD shrink I got a message when I attempted to open the disc saying that the region of the disc was different to the region of my burner. It also said I could change my burner's region but only four more times or something. So being unsure about it all I decided not to fiddle with the region. Is there a way I can back it up without having to change the region of my burner?

Have you tried the disc in a desktop player? My guess is that it will play fine there.

This what happened. DVD Shrink automatically makes the DVD that you are recording Region Free. There is a box that you can check that will cause the Region to stay the same. Look careful and you will see it.

You didn't state what model your dvd recorder is, but there is firmware out there to change most recorders to Region Free if you so desire.
