dvdxcopy express error message: unable read DVD

I have installed Dvdxcopy express
i am getting a message : unable read DVD , it did not even start yet.
it says version 1.0 on the DVD Xtreme CD

I am using Sony DRU 540 A DVD drive
any comments ?
