yeah thats happening to me to i have a cable connection and the connection status says limited or no connectivity and whenever i try and connect it says my ip address is timed out and now i really just do not know what to do.

hey, the information on this page was very useful and i finally got it to work after a long time. however, does anyone know how to make it go faster? as soon as i got on both my PSP and my computer started going as slow as shit. im guessing its the WIFI Max, but thats supposed to make it go faster... if anyone knows anything that might help my PSP go faster, please tell me.

I keep getting an error message saying it doesnt detect the usb dongle thing? And when i plug it in i dont hear the noise I usually do with other USB devices..o and im runnin XP SP2 so my computer isnt old or nothing lol. Any thoughts? defective unit? I tried it in several different usb slots.

Hi mate. You should recieve a CD of the Wi-Fi software. Try using that. It should install the Dongle for you.

I have managed to get it to connect, but there is no signal most of the time, and when there is, and i have been through everything and go on test connection, everything is Ok, until i get to the end and it says connection failed. i am clueless, and angry for buying the thing, any suggestions as to what to do?

I update to the 3.03op and i'm trying to connect to internet on my PSP with the wifi-Max but i got some erros...
First, i get an error when i test my connection:
Internet connection: failed
Also, when i open the Internet Browser there is another one:
A DNS error occured. (80410410)"
And finally, when i try to play online, there is another one:
UDP port check failed. (Error: P518)
Can someone please help!???

Hey bought one of those pieces of shit Wifi Max things and well i cant be arsed messing around with my pc internet settings anymore so i think im going to just buy a wireless router...fuck sake all i just want is can enable my WMA and Flash on my Psp, why the fuck couldnt sony have had it already enabled on the psp why the fuck argghhhh!

Like the last person said, i suggest you return the Wi-Fi max and cut your losses. Once you over come one problem another one appears.

can u help me wen ever i try to connect to the internet it says acsses point not detetd and wen i dosnt say dat it says obtaing ip adrees and then it say ip adrees timed out

Hmmm...sorry mate.
As for the other guy, i suggest you disable your firewall and re-do everything on the first page. I know if i was in your situation you would be very angry at me, but the Wi-Fi max is a son a B****. You have to keep trying for it to work. The same steps over and over again. It will work, it did finally for me, but lets just say...the device is very sensitive. All the advice i can give you, is to do whats on the first page. Thats all there is to overcoming it.

Hi all, wish I'd found this forum before buying the wifi max instead of afterwards.
Along with many others I cannot get it to work, having spent all weekend doing virtually every suggested fix for it I still cannot get it to work.
Sometimes it says cannot find IP address and then it says found access point but cannot connect to server.
Just about had enough and give up now (shame as it seems a great idea and will not get to kart against my mates)
My question, is the official nintendo wifi connector likely to work if I get one of those.
I get the feeling the problem is a connection problem between my pc and the server and not the access point itself so would a different access point be any different?
Has anyone had problems witheir wifi max and then changed to the nintendo one for it to actually work?

from what i know, theyre very similar, but the Nintendo one im guessing is for the DS. It can work for the psp too. I have a DS one and it works fine....sometimes. But the same problems occur as the PSP one.
My advice? Dish out 20-30 more pounds and get yourslef a good router.

well, i finnaly got it to work.. somehow... and it worked for about a week, but one time i didnt get on one night.. and i guess the dongle got angry cause now it wont let me get on anymore. it keeps saying limited or no connectivity. its so gay. and i cant get it to find the IP address. i hate this thing.

OK IVE SPENT 5 hours straight trying to connect thru wireless connection and im getting quite anoyed somebody help pls and tell me how to do this and if im connected to my brothers comp through a router what to do i tried pretty much evrything i cant share a connection because it says "a LAN connection is configured with the ip address which is required for automatic ip addressing" and when i typed in the run thing the default gateway didnt give me a number sooo pls help :(

Ok so i got the wifi max the other day
and ive looked at 1,000,000 forums and crap ive done everything possible
its shared
no firewalls
typed ip address manually
did all that crap with the dongle
and all that stuff
im so close to getting it to work
when i start my connection i type in cheatcc.com it says obtaining ip address it obtains it the wlan light thing blinks like a crazy women from alabama
but it never goes to the sight it eventually says communicaton with server failed. dns error occured.(804104110

ive managed to get it working by using steps from all the different ways of sorting problems, but how do i connect a laptop to WiFi max, it finds it, but it wont let me access the internet, the Troubleshooter which comes with MSN Messenger 7.5 says that the IP is ok, but shows that there is a problem with the Gateway
Also, can you use WiFi max without the PC turned on, or is there a way to keep it active all the time when the PC is turned off.

I managed to get my wifi stick to work just plugged it in the other day tried all the steps over again and boom it worked so right now im downloaded medal of honour demo to my psp good luck to the rest of you trying to get the wifi stick to work its a bastard to work.
