i bought a 25 cake box of them the discs were the old 2x green topped dvd-r discs, they all burnt fine but when they were played back they would all freeze about halfway through the disc but as i said that was over a year ago and the quality of there discs might have changed also the dye they are using has probably changed to, so my experience with there discs will hopefully not be experienced by you

to make backup with dvd decrypter all you do is go to
iso -> read
then
iso -> write

to make backup using nero all you have to do is go to "dvd" in the drop down box and then go to "dvd copy"

i have a successful backup using ridata and DVD Decrypter...however, the game sometimes freezes for a few minutes when driving a car, and I get and error message "error reading SA disk"...and then it just starts up again where I left off. I have a ver 7, with flip-top and swap magic. I did not see a swapmagic fix on the SM web site. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?

San Andreas work perfectly on my v3, I used DVD Decrypter with Verbatim dvd-r =)
Stick with high quality media such as Verbatim or TDK and you cant go wrong.
Dont use Bulkpaq... totally useless!
SA also works great with hdloader.

I got a perfect backup on GAME brand DVD - R(it says its an optodisc in decrypter)

It's perfect although there are 3 minor acute annoyances that do not effect gameplay.

1: It takes 3 attempts to boot each time, thats swapping dvd for backup with swap magic 3 times.
2: Loading times for getting to cutscenes and going in and out of some buildings is a little slow, not to slow under a minute and it loads.
3: It freezes occasionaly, but it starts back up at the exact same point in about 2 seconds.

Aside from those minor annoyances its perfect.

When I say perfect I mean the game is perfect backup, the actual real game sometimes loses textures on buildings and sometimes buildings dissapear. If you notice that on a backup it's not the backup, it happens on the real disc to. It happens because the game is so huge and it takes it so long to load, the game loads slower than you are playing. So much is going on if it loads it all and maintains it, the game would freeze anyways. So it keeps it going steadily and these graphic glitches arnt really annoying its only when graphics dissapear and u try to go into a building and keep ramming a wall because you cant see it... so to note the graphics glicthes are in the real game to... and he backup copy is perfect, minor annoyances really are minor.

Excellent game, go out and get it right now!

Mcnoodle its a version 9 I think cause I bought it last month after screwing up my sons ps2 by trying to use the slide card while the disc was still spinning, but I think the laser had gone anyway cause it wouldnt boot up the swap magic disc...dvd 2......I think this whole copying thing is trial and error cause I never thought an -rw would work with alcohol and my ritek go4 would give me errors with decryptor, only with san andreas though Im 53 years old and this game san andreas is cracking me up.....LOL
