Hmm so elliot, you have never experienced the first 3 problems that I have mentioned like freezing and loading with an alcohol burn?
The things about graphics dissapearing happens on the real disc which kinda blows, but the game is so good who cares.. its ok that its so huge and it lags on getting scenery in on occasions.. if it was on PS3 it would be a totally different story.

I dont know where you got that extra 1gb from lol =)
GTA:SA is 4.19GB, you should have no trouble backing it up with dvd decrypter.
mcnoodle dont worry about it.

There is a program called DVD Shrink that allows this I think, I haven't used it yet so I can't advise on how to use it.
However I dnt see why you should need to, the GTA:SA disc is just over 4GB...
If you put the disc in your drive and then right click the drive and select properties it will tell you the exact size. Still it shdnt be bigger than the size of a blank DVD which is 4.7GB.

dvd shrink allows you to compress dvd movies, not Ps2 games.

San Andreas is a single layer dvd game.
Quoting myself,
Quote: GTA:SA is 4.19GB, you should have no trouble backing it up with dvd decrypter
You dont need to delete anything.
The max size for SL dvds is 4.37GB...how did you get 4.9gig?
GTA:SA Original is 4.19GB

The "error reading SA disk" error is a problem with the game itself. Even the real copies have that issue.

I ripped GTA SA with stomp recordnow max 4.5 and burned with DVD Decrypter @ 2x. Perfect working copy. Lite-On LDW-411S DVD burner, and Maxell DVD+R media.

I am using the Ritek GA04 disks...and I have tried RecordNow max, DVD Decryptor, CloneCd, Alcohol 120. When I use CloneCd, the error says that the sub and image file dont match, DVD Decrytor-the ISO files look like they are working until it reaches 91% then it quits. RecordNowmax-cant do a direct copy, errors present? Any thoughts. Thanks

are you making sure that you have enough space on your hard drive? Because that would stop it at 91% if its full.

I just tried it again on a empty drive...the app works until it get to 91% and the display shows that there were 58 read error retries at that stage then quits with an I/O error. Maybe this original game is hooped? I dont know anymore.
