You asked about test mode - did you try it? I didn't say it wasn't summat worth trying - you wanted to know if the actual burn was guaranteed. I've used test mode a few times when disks wouldn't burn. One thing it does indicate if test mode doesn't work is that it's prolly not gonna happen when you try the real thing so that would give you a point to start from without wasting more disks just trying. But inevitably you will have coasters until you find the solution to the problem. And that solution might well be changing media, even if it means buying a few different types till you get one that works for you.

SSBB - you mean - yeah just take the update all the way. Oh and GC2-D2C is the chipset not the chip. The chip is probably D2CKey as I told you in the other thread.

OK HERE IT IS!!! Do the same thing you do to burn any game iso with image burn and do not set the layer break you don't have too, but heres the catch you need to change the book-type to dvd-rom for it to work i have an LG GSA-H54L dvd burner. To change it you must have a legit brand name lg no oem or it won't work where it says destinations where it says you burner type right click, change book-type LG drive or whatever one you have that is in the list there and change it from dvdr-dl to dvd-rom click change button then ok there you go burn at low speed and it works in the wii with the wasabi no more white screen or nothin, one more thing i used memorex DL and FUJIFILM DL and for those problem dvd drives in the wii that won't even spin up pot steak anticlockwise until it reads dl layer disc BE VERY CAREFULL i'm not responsible for what happens!!!!

Been pouring over these forums...and got a little confused by juniR's reply back to jessyrk above. Then, I see forte09's question....I already have 3.2U firmware, U.S. Wii (NTSC), D2CKey, but SSBB (NTSC U.S.) still requests system update. Why, if I have latest firmware?
Thanks!

Winton - the game has an update which is necessary to play it (basically DL update). It also has a firmware version 3.1. It will see what you have and update if necessary. If you have 3.2 it won't update the firmware but it will update to play the game.

Hi, why can't i burn this damn game? I used a Philips DVD+R DL and a generic DVD+R DL both failed burning at 51% in Nero and %50 in ImgBurn. In Nero, the error was "unable to finish end of disc-at-once" and at ImgBurn a very lengthy error code and i only remembered something with "device". why is this happening? i dont wanna waste some DL any more, they're still very expensive nowadays.

Try Verbatim +R DL, it works for me the first time. Did you use layer break? My friend's works w/o layer break, mine works with layer break it.

My first time burning was successfuly (Verbatim +R, No layer break, ImgBurn@2.4x). Second time, With layer break for my d2pro wii because the first one was frozen at the white screen, but my friend's wiikey wii could play it. So basically, both times are successfully from burning to playing.
I only bought Verbatim's DL discs because I don't wanna waste money on trying cheap discs as DL discs still expensive around $2 each. Haven't tried other brands.

I got my WII that has a D2CKEY installed.
I burnt the Brawl ISO on a dual layer disc, and WII loads it properly, it's just that the game is "stuck" on a white screen after the "Now Loading" screen.
Does anyone have a solution to this? All other WII backup games works, in case if you were wondering.

Set layer break if not working without it.
AND/OR
Use verbatim DVD+R DL and burn with ImgBurn@2.4x.

No - other brands can work as well. Whether they will for an individial with a particular burner on their Wii isn't something you can generalise about tho. I have some cheap Aones working for me as well as Verbatim. You only have to read a few posts in this thread to see ppl have had success with brands other than verbatim - even some on this very page... doesn't mean to say you will be successful with those tho. Verbatim is what the guy is suggesting you try cos clearly the ones you are using ain't doing it. Ppl always seem to be reluctant to think it can be media when in fact it's the number one problem but is also very dependent on the burner.

Burners vary in how well they work with various brands of media. Verbatim are among the more generally compatible brands. I've seen a fair amount of success with memorex for this game as well tho that brand is generally poor with single layer.
