Did you hear the latest from Mourinho? He blames the defeat on the Fulham players for putting pressure on the ref... LOL Don't you just love him? LOL And you have to live with the best manager in the world till 2010! LOL

i think it is about time they had video replay as they do in rugby. The other thing that annoys me is (and i am talking about ALL teams) is the way that the linesmen and refs get surrounded. When you look at rugby the guys are a lot more respectful of the officials, and don't get on like spoilt children if something doesn't go their way. I know that they are 2 different sports, but the difference in behaviours is quite remarkable.
And the triple crown is ours!!!!!!

Well, Rugby players don't get as much money as football players do! Thus they don't act like prima donnas...
A football player, normally, comes off the street, if they don't play ball, they don't do ANYTHING else! Rugby players, normally, are 'educated' people...
As for the replays... Definitely... We do have a lot of VERY hard decisions... Remember the goal that knocked us out of the CL last year? To me, and i still say today, was out... You can see it in the replay... (how's that for a Mourinho remark?)
[edit] Oh... Triple crown? Next year mate... LOL

Yeah!! That was just plain scandalous! Why don't they do it? Because of the lobbies of our football! You know what it would be like! Arsenal wouldn't have gone 50 games unbeaten... LOL And Man Utd... Well... They wouldn't have been champions in a long time... LOL

Hi Ktulu
I didn't see the game as i just got in from work. I'm only checking my mails and i'm ready for the sack...
Have just watched the highlights on the BBC website, for what i saw we had the best chances but there's no improvement from that Fulham's game... Still playing sh|te... Newcastle aren't even the best of sides! Feel sorry for Shearer tough... All those years at Newcastle and nothing to show for...
I think Mourinho is starting to feel the pressure, he's looking more and more decomposed, he's showing signs of strees on the pitch... Have you seen his hair? Turned grey in a week! Bloody media don't leave him alone, they turn everyone against him! (I must admit he doesn't exactly do himself any favours...lol)
The point is that he's on the way to a double, but everyone still thinks it's not enough... Not me mind, i'm happy with just the title! We never had nothing before, why do people think that just because we have a lot of money, we have to win everything?!? Good football wins titles, not money!
Anyway, Liverpool done well against Birmingham's U12...LOL
I didn't expect 7 but i did predict 5! LOL
We're next!

back on the point of Surrounding the Ref, i agree there but it feels good when you get the better of it, Arsenal do it quite a lot, But Diving!? Chelsea could make a Oscar winning film on how they dive to the floor called " Rich players love the Dirt". It just gets me outrages sometimes...Del Horno is a bloody minge...damn i like to see him do it front of a highbury corwd...
Arsenal! =D

Bombayboy, every team has a diver... To me, Ronaldo and Pires are the worst of the Prem! I don't like sorrounding the Ref, players should learn to respect the ref's decision! It's like, when a player gets a yellow card, why do they argue? I just don't understand! Another thing is when the players 'ask' the ref to show a card when they get fouled! In almost every game, every week, you see a player going down and then waving his hand like holding the card! That is actually a bookable offence! But you tell me how many ref's actually enforce it!

I haven't seen Pires or Ronaldo dive in a while. I think Chelsea's reputation is a little harsh, because it's not all of them, just the trio of del Horno, Robben & Drogba. I'll dismiss Wright-Philips's sheninigans off as a one-time occasion, as I have only seen him dive once.
I like Chelsea as a team (that's a lot coming from a QPR fan, trust me :), but Jose Mourinho, on occasions, really annoys me. And it's not because of his arrogance -- he is more than entitled to that, as his managerial record speaks for itself. I feel he is a poor loser. After the Barcelona game, he couldn't even admit that Chelsea were outplayed -- yet the rest of the world could, even some of the most ardent chelsea fans I know acknowledged defeat. Also, he was complaining about the Drogba hand ball incident, protesting that the linesman couldn't have seen it. Well, he did, because he signalled such to the referee as soon as the goal went in. The TV replays concur, yet he still has to rant about it in the post-match interview.

Lethal - I don't dispute that any club can beat a poor team, but given the lack of success we have had in front of goal (all season i might add), I think it is quite a remrkable achievement these days to score any more than 3 goals against any team no matter how good/bad their form is.
I also think that it about time the refs took a harder stance against a) divers, and b) players waving the imaginary cards. Del horno in the chelsea game was one of the worst i have seen for quite some time (not forgetting Robben), but i didn't see him saying to the ref what he had done although he did say to the newcastle player (forget his name at mo). I am not saying that Liverpool are whiter than white in all this, but the same teams seem to come up time and time again.
I see that Chelsea are up in front of the FA again for surrounding the ref at the Fulham match (BBC website).

The thing about diving is that the ref will only book the offender when the dive happens INSIDE the box! Have you noticed? Outside the box they say 'play on, stop messing about!'...
Del Horno needs to grow up imo. I don't like him because of his attempts to push for the foul! If he gets experienced players in front of him willing to trick him into an error, he'll be out of the team in no time!
Lethal, you are right about Mourinho! Those are the things i dislike about the guy! Last year he created that diversion that kinda worked, but this year Barca were A LOT stronger and Chelsea... Well... They outplayed us by a mile! In both games! Need i say more! But he still... Not good... But he's always in trouble! Always! That means less sh|t get thrown on the players... Leaves them always on the outside of the media polemics and scandals...
Drogba has to go this summer... We need the Shev!

Soooooooooo Permiggs, we meet again muhahaha.
Whats the betting it will be the Sunday match and I am going to have to take the Monday off with a hangover???? What do you think??
I am in the position (with the others in my house) that I have to be gracious no matter what the outcome. May the best team win, and no f**kin diving by any one.

I think i heard that on the bbc last night with the charlton/middlesboro game. Personally, any divers should get a straight red, only way to get rid of it. The worst are the foreign players (and this is not a racist comment). I also have a love/hate relationship where garcia is concerned. he can do the business one minute, then totally f**k up the next. FRUSTRATION!!!! Almost as frustrating as Drogba......

Drogba isn't too bad compared to Scum Utd's Ronaldo...
The thing is, there is a very fine line between a dive and a foul. How many times you watching a game, there's a case and you say 'DIVE!', then they show the replay from camera 1, and you go 'i told ya it was a dive!', but then they change to camera 2 where you can see the suble knock and you go 'well, it seemed like a foul from the other angle!'...
There's a lot of players that actually get fouled in the box, but because of the whole apparatus of the scene, (mainly when they play away...) they end up getting the yellow card and not the penalty...
Refs don't have two camera angles or slow motion, what they have is a split second to make a decision under the watching eyes of millions of people ready to hang them... And if they brought active replays into the game, it would last 3 hours, not 90 minutes... Can't be done! Can you imagine how many times the ref would have to look at the replays in a big classic game? LOL The game flow would be affected, the players rhythm would be affected... It would become a boring game. They already tried the microphone on the ref... They had to switch it off at half time, the swearing was that bad...LOL
I don't like rugby (that much anyway) because of that very reason, too many stopages, makes it boring. I like our game when it is pacey, 90 minutes of fun...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think there's another (even more)important issue to look at, other than the diving scene... The off-side rule needs desperate attention! In every game there's mistakes from the linesmen, how many times you seen Henry being stoped by a bad off-side decision?
I normally say that they make mistakes to appear on the telly, so they can say 'Mom, did you see me on the telly?', but after you loose a few games, you start thinking about the BAD off-side decisions you had in the games against you... You start thinking 'That would be a place in the CL'...
It's like, in case of doubt, you benefit the attacking team, i mean, that's part of the rules right? How come you get so many mistakes when the attacker would be inline with the last defender, and the linesman waves it off?
Mourinho always says that nowadays games are won on details... Pacey attackers always get done by this rule... Just look at Henry... How many times has he been done wrong?
What do you guys think of that?

Well, I didn't post to this thread for a while, but have to say this, it looks like we might dispatch Juve ! Now if we do, I want to hear what Viera has to say after the game. Something like want to play for a team who has a chance to win the CL.
Good showing today Gunners !
