CCE Templates - Should I set them up?

I am a new user of RB/CCE. Im using DVDRebuilder v.66a and CCE SP 2.5. I have a question about CCE. In the guide to setting up CCE (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/ccebasic.htm), I have setup the template as follows but I now need help setting up more templates for other formats. Below is how I would consider setting up but would like a second opinion and any additions or deletions. Should I even bother making templates? (CCE2.5 does not have all of the same settings that are shown on the doom9 guide):

16:9 Progressive (already done)

16:9 Interlaced
Change:
ConvertToYUY2() to ConvertToYUY2(interlaced=true)(where is this setting??)
check "close all GOPs"
check "Equalize each GOP's bit length"
change "zigzag" in "block scan order" to "alternate"
uncheck "progressive frame"

4:3 Progressive (same as 16:9 progressive but change aspect ratio to 4:3)

4:3 Interlaced
Change:

Should VBR "Min" "Avg" & "Max" be changed on any templates (maybe a 3000 Min on Interlaced?)

Are there any other changes that should be made to CCE and/or Rebuilder?

Did anyone setup any templates that work well for them?

Do I have to run CCE first, choose the template and than close it in order for Rebuilder to open it up to that specific template?
