Most likely almost exactly the same. There's only so many different ways you can make those plastic plugs, after all, heh. They should both do the trick, since they're just a cleaner version of the straw mod.
Only difference I can tell is that the clearxbox site for the "Ghost Switch" is a bit more professional, and a tad cheaper in price.

Thank you pretense, and you are right. Clearbox is selling the Ghost Switch + Swap Magic Combo Set for only $25 shipped, with the code "Ghost" of course. I wonder why there are no pictures whatsoever for it?

I just wanted to throw in this thread that even though ps2fliptop.net has kinda a shabby look to the site it is acctually very good. Three of my friends and I have all ordedered stuff from there and gotten it all fast and in great condition ( I even got mine littereally 4 hours after I ordered it and that was with just the normal cheapest shipping option!!!)
But since the other one is cheaper and its just a couple little pieces of plastic you might as well get teh cheaper one.

is there any pictures to these pieces? im curious as to what they look like. it seems on the clearxbox site, they say you have to take off the top of your ps2. i thought you just clip these pieces into place and it should work. i didnt know you had to disassemble your ps2. that does seem like a great price tho. im thinkin of ordering it for myself now. but do i go with the ghost switch or magic switch

yeah...i just put mine in tonight..it was the ghost switch. easy to install, and you dont have to take the warranty sticker off...i just used it as a hinge and it looks good as new. but ya the only prob it alwasys thinks the lid is shut...which pisses me off cuz its a SWITCH not another cap. it does have a hole where the front sensor can fit through, but it wont quite go all the way through. i might file the hole or notch a little bigger so it will actually be a switch. other than that, it works awesome.

On the Swap Magic site, it explains how to install the magic switch, apparently you don't need to open the PSTwo.Here is the picture of the pieces included:
Here is a picture showing how to install it:
I was wondering if you could take the piece "C" out after you've finished playing to close the lid

I am not sure, but I heard in another forum that it could be closed. Even if you couldn't close it i'm pretty sure you could take out piece "C" (shown in my other post) and close the lid and replace it when you are using swap magic again.
Hope that this was helpfull

yeah...pretty sure the lid has got to be open..on the site it says "no clipping peices off ur ps2", and if your have the magic switch(s) sticking in the holes, the lid wont be able to shut. and u can do the saem thing with straws and tissue. just go with the ghst switch, i have it, works great.

ghost or magic switch
there is an 3rd alternative
on www.slimtool.com . Has someone tryed it?
The C piece is like in the magic switch but allows you to close the lid while playing. :-D
But actually I didn't found a website selling it at
a correct price!
Can someone help me?because I don't want to pay
14? for it! :-s [as seen on techwizad.com]

If someone knows people from linker4u or another big website tell him this.
The best solution is this:
The A and the B parts from the MAGIC SWITCH (because they have adhesives sides, they're black so it looks btter) and the C part from the slim tool kit (because it allows you to play with a closed lid)
->so it will be a ideal method not voiding your warranty!
Somebody agrees with me or Am I the only one that thinks so?

Can someone help me...i would honestly pay you by mail, or paypal. I have the swapmagic 3.3. so i guess the new one, and the slide card, but slide card doesnt work for PSTWo. What's the easiest way. email: Do not post your email anymore or you will be banned.

I think the slimtool looks the best cause you can close your ps2 and you warranty is fully intact, no opening of your case or anything.
But, is the slimtool available from any sites in North America??
I've only seen it for Euro sites, and it's much more expensive. I'm in Canada, if anyone knows of any sites closer, please let me know.

I assume you are talking about the flip top for the v12 or slim ps2. In that case you can lift the entire hatch for inserting/removing discs normally, or just lift up the inner circle to perform undetected swaps.

The Slimtool enable you to close the lid whilst playing your back ups.It is easier to fit than the magic switch, which users have reported as being fiddly to fit.
It is longer lasting than the magic switch and does not burn out your laser like the magic switch does.
You can check it out here.
