hey gang,
if I back up a DVD with only DTS audio, how will it play in a DVD player that doesn't have a DTS decoder?

You should never make a disc with only DTS audio because it does not follow the DVD-Video standard.
To follow that standard you must have the mandatory audio required for NTSC or PAL/SECAM discs. DTS is only a optional audio format when a mandatory audio format is already included.

hm. I'd never thought of such a requirement, esp. when we're flattening content to "still image" and stripping out extras, etc. Just wondered what the DVD player or receiver would do with no DD sound (only DTS).
