For some reason my Azureus 2.2.0.0 is slow even I have an ADSL connection that runs at 1.5Mbps (it runs at between 8kb/s to 22.5kb/s). Here are the specs to my PC:

80 gigabytes of hard disk space
512mb of ram
uses Trend Micro Internet security 2005
Windows XP
SP2 with all new updates

I would be grateful if you could give me some tips or otherwise on how to speed up my bitorrent download rate (uploade rate, ports I should use, maybe even another bittorrent client etc...)

Thank you for your help.

Sorry, I'm new to this forum. Anyway, do you mean portforwarding? I've done that already, and now its port 8001.

Sorry, I'm new to this forum. When you talk about ports do you mean portforwarding? If you do, the port that I have set is port 8001. Thanks for your help.

i get top speeds

but - bbthumper has a valid question - do they have a lot of seeders in relation to the leechers

for example is their more seeders then leechers?

There are more leechers than seeders. There are about 49 seeders and 347 leechers. I can now see your point.

I have started trying a program called BT engine 4.1 but that seems to make the download rate slower. Have you had any experience with this program?
