I am having problems burning the forgotten. The new dycrypter works fine. It says that structure protection was found and "inserts dummy sectors". But in the end I guess it gets it on my hard drive. I open shrink and it says "overlapped I/O" when I try to open files. When I hit "Re-Author" most of the main movie is missing and it seems to be where decrypter put the dummy sectors.
I have read the other people posting here and none of the solutions given actually work. People say they work but I need someone with real experiance with THIS MOVIE.
I need to hear from someone who has a backed up copy of this movie that they have watched all the way thru and it worked.
What is structure protection? Is it new?
What is RCE protection?
I like to know what actually is going on as much as I do how to do it.
I thank you for your help.

AMD 2000+
512MD DDR
160G HDD
NEC 8X DVD+/-RW
LITE-ON 16X DVD

I had a Hitatchi DVD drive that "the forgotten" seemed to burn up. It died, had to buy a new drive. May have just been the drives time to go but its awfuly suspicios.
I needed a faster one anyway.

-Just get the new AnyDVD v4.5.5.1 ,it will crack this movie.I'am backing it up as I wright this post to you.
I'am useing AnyDVD v4.5.5.1 and Nero Record 2. DVD Shrink was also able to scan this disk fully (note: before updateing to v4.5.5.1 this disk would not scan fully).

Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.

Have you tried to use the latest AnyDVD in the background? It has a trial period so at least you can give it a go.

Hats off to bardie & Redant...Just finished using 'anyDVD' to get past the problem I'd been having with DVDShrink & DVD Decrypter with both "The Forgotten" & "Little Black Book", the AnyDVD kicked butt!! I just finished watching the entire movie "Forgotten" with all menus and even the alternate ending in tact and working perfectly!! Now going through "The Little Black Book". Thanks a Bunch guys!! What doesn't work for some definately works for others!! (Cable22, give it shot...ANYDVD is worth the download!)

I will definatley try it.
DVD shrink has been kicking ass for me the past few months, havent used anything else.
Except decrypter on the universal movies with the kid in the green shorts crap.
I hope they come out with a new DVD Shrink that can kick the new Copy protections ass.
Can anyone explain to me the specifics of how this copy protection works, anyone got a URL to a technical artical about it that I can read. I really do like to know how its working.

I didnt want software I had to buy. I donated to DVD Decrypter for the very fact that they didnt make me.

I will give the AnyDVD a shot, thanks folks.
Happy ripping.

You have an interesting way of saying things. I don't know which programs your trying ... but all of mine work.

This movie "The Forgotten" can be ripped with the new DVD Decrypter.

It can 1/2 ripped. It inserts dummy sectors that eliminate the 1st title of the main movie. And DVD Shrink in turn cant shrink and burn it. Overplapped I/O it says.

On the other hand, anyDVD worked great! Ran it in the background and DVD Shrink had no problem ripping, shrinking, and burning.

I would almost buy anyDVD if it wasnt so much. I might pay $20 but not 30 or 40.

Thanks guys for you help!

DVD decrypter thinks it did, I even have files on the hard drive from it, but it didnt do it right.

And even if it did what am I going to do with the files if I cannot burn them?

Well I'm not sure what settings your using. I just finished backing up this movie using just DVD Decrypter 3.5.2.0 and DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 (default settings)

Watching it now and it's playing just fine. So it can be done.

Did you try DVD Decrypter's "aggressive" setting in Settings > General > "Check for structure protection"?

The NEW version of Decrypter & DVD Shrink 3.2 WILL backup this movie! I'm watching the ripped version now! Close to perfect bas it gets. One thing, with DVD Shrink, you'll need to adjust your pagefile to MAXIMUM! After that, you are good to go! Noteworthy: The new movies done by Columbia Tri-Star are the tough ones! New Sony Encryption! The NEW Decrypter handles it well!

Hello, I am new to this forum. I am trying to crack Resident Evil 2 and the Forgotten. I have been using dvd xcopy and dvd shrink 3.2, but neither program seems to work. I read people saying that it is possible on dvd shrink; if so what settings do you adjust? When I try to read it using dvdshrink it will get to 18% and then stop right during the preview. Which settings do I need to alter? Has anyone had any success with other programs? Thanks a lot. prk

I was able to burn RE2 with a program called SUPER DVD COPY it was a free trial it lets you tr it for 9 copies i think. It worled fine it took some time but it did the job. It was able to copy the menu basically the complete disk, now when i try to copy Forgotten it will read it and when it is almost done it will error out. I get the same thing with Shrink 18% and it just sits there. I am now trying the new DVD Decrypter with settings at Agressive. I will post the results.

Bunnyrip - Where is this pagefile setting? I cannot find it. I got the forgotten copied, but I would like to know if I could get it to encode faster.

@Caleb22,

Read the forum rules. Your last post is off topic. Also go over the rules on piracy.

@cproject,

DVD Decrypter will only burn ISO files. You need to make sure you created an ISO image file w/ DVD Shrink.
