This is the first time I've used Shrink and I backed up the files of a DVD onto my hard drive and I put in a DVD-R but I figure out how to burn. I have Nero Burning Rom 5, and I thought I'd go to Backup to burn. Any help?

Check out the guides ..top of the page third from the left.

Also with Shrink select Edit then preferences, then IS/O

tick the burn with Nero box.

ps: upgrade Nero at the ahead/nero site.

regards gringle. ;)

I heard about how DVD drives can only burn only DVD-R or DVD+R. How do I find out which one my drive uses?

Okay, thanks. I guess that's not the problem. When I put in a blank DVD-R, I can't open any programs unless I eject the DVD. It seems like every time programs won't respond if I have a DVD in the drive after I open the program. Same with booting up the computer, if it's in the drive, can't start up the computer. Hope someone understands what I'm trying to say, I'm not good at explaining.

Are you sure it is a dvd- burner? and second, the fact that you can't run any programs whilst the dvd-r is in indicates that you definately can't burn onto that media, at least from my experience in similar cases.

I have several questions for you. If you have an off the shelf dvd movie, will you be able to boot up, or access progams as normal? Have you changed media recently?

Your DVD drive is not reading the media you put in it for some reason. Did you install this recently? Are the jumper settings on the back set properly for either a single unit set as master, or two drives set as master and slave and the ribbon cable used is also an "80" ribbon with a blue end on the MB side. Most new drives require an 80 ribbon.

The original DVD works just fine. I haven't checked the connections yet but it has been never been changed.
