DVD Shrink Timeout Error...Please Help

I am trying to burn my first movie and having the following problem. I use DVD Decrypter to copy the movie to my HDD. Copied without problems. I then opened DVD Shrink to use it with Nero to burn a DVD-R copy. I opened the file where the movie was stored on my HDD and chose my external DVD recorder as the target. The DVD recorder is a external SONY DRU710A hooked up via USB connection. DVD Shrink then opened a window to start encoding which it did without problems.
Next a "Burning" window opened and the burn process started. It stated it burned 19% in about 3 minutes and then froze up. The "Burn Status Log", which was also displayed durning the burn showed the following:
DVD-Video files reallocation started
DVD-Video files allocation completed (no files modified
DVD-Video files sorted
Caching of files started
Caching of files completed
Burn process started at 4X(5,540KBs)
SCSI/ATAPI command timeout error SONY DVDRW DRU710\H2 TO
Can anyone please guide a new guy through this problem?
I have searched the forum and can't find anything that solves this issue. Thanks

Is your external burner running via a USB 2 port?

Yes, it is USB2.

OK, in Device Manager, check and see that you are in DMA mode for your external Burner.

Went to Device MGr but didn't see anything concerning DMA.

Sorry, was looking at the wrong disk drive. DMA is checked and was when the problem occured.

OK, under Device Manager find 'IDE ATA/ATAPI Contollers, open that and you will see Primary and Secondry channels, see if they are in DMA mode.

HI,
YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS..TRY THIS
Tried it...did not work, using the latest Shrink.
Problem is you can not resize with out an initial analyizing. But no reason to fret.
The latest version of Deccryptor gets past it.
Open Decryptor
Select Mode
Select ISO
Select READ
create the folder where you want it to save
Write it to you HD
when done close and
Open DVDShrink
Select Open Files
Select the ISO file Decryptor created
Click OK
Shrink treats this file as though it were a DVD, so you basically run Shrink like you would if you were using a DVD.
I COPY THIS FROM SOMEONE AND IT WORKED..I FINALLY USED THE DECRYPTER YESTERDAY AND DO THE MOVIES FINE..I ACTUALLY USED IT FOR ALIEN VS PREDATOR.
