This is for Karlzips.... You can buy a Replay Lite in confidence as long as it has the latest software on it (752) which I am sure it will have if the seller is worth his salt.
752 works perfectly, as good as all the other boxes. NTL went down for a bit in Dublin while they switched between ROMS and everything was slow to update, the problem was with the cable company and not with the replay's/starviews/eurovoxes etc.
Hope that helps.

Morning lads,
Wondering if someone can help me, yesterday during all the problems with NTL and codes and stuff, one of my boxes went down but the one upstairs didnt. I cloned both boxes off one with updated firmware last weekend and was pretty sure that the clone was successful as it copied over all the channels in proper order and my favorites listings etc, so how come one box updated itself and the other didnt??
Also, even the one that did update itself showed me different codes to the ones provided on the forum yesterday, but the codes provided on the forum got the box downstairs back up and running??
Any ideas why that happened???

Double check what firmware is on the box by going into RECEIVER INFORMATION (I think that is what it is called) in the menu.
It should be 752.
Thanks.

The box that went down was either switched off during the code change or shortly afterwards. It then took it some time to get the codes which was a network problem not a problem with the box.
The one that did not go down and was still working on the old codes was obvioulsy still switched on during the code change and would continue to do so until it was switched off. The box generally only needs updates to new codes when it has been unplugged and then switched back on. You will probably have noticed a number of postings above from people who are still running v7.44 stating that they accidentally unplugged the box and therefore need the new codes.
Hope this explains it for you.

Thats a great help but can i ask why the codes i had to input manually were different to those that the working box picked up automatically???

Stop the search and start it again but set the start frquency up the top to 338.6Mhz........ should have all channels within one minute, if not you know you have a problem but no point wasting all afternoon trying to figure it out.

The ones you had to input manually were the correct ones. The box that was still working with the old codes will continue to do so until it is unplugged. It will then search for the new ones.
Probably the best way to explain it is that it needs the new codes to unscramble the network but once it is unscrambled it will stay that until it is switched off even if they have changed the codes half a dozen times.
If it is still on the old codes now ykeep a note of them then reboot the box at the mains and check the codes again when it unscrambles and you will find it has the new codes in it.

Good stuff, it pulls in a lot of channels twice so after it gets past 150 you can pretty much stop it and your good to go.
Hope they are not scrambled now when your finished. Let us know wont ya.

They are defo the correct codes, are you sure you put them in the correct place and saved them.
Also, having done a factory default did you activate the box by going to Menu, User Installation and Parental Lock, and then key in the code as '7777'.
You should then see a message "Access Denied".
When this dissapears press the red button to 'Go to key manager' and then simply EXIT all the way out. Give it a minute and channels should unscramble. I find if you flick around the sky movies channels they unscramble quicker.
Try that and let us know.

No put the codes into Prov ID 0x55.
You will get there by pressing back to the left (volume down) bout 4 times.

Sorry man, i did all mine manually first time around and then just cloned the rest of the boxes in my house using a null modem cable so all the boxes in the house are the same i.e software / channel order / favourites listings etc, but initially i just spend about an hour doing my own.

Anytime i go into the menu the first Prov ID i see is 0x01 but i thought thats just the way it happens, my channels are fine, dont think its meant to stay on 0x55, ur current key page will tell you what prov id the box is using and thats all that matters

When you set it to 0x55 make sure you turn off the "Auto Update"

you go into youir channel manager. select fav 1 go to edit and rename it to whatever you want to call it e.g movies, then scroll through each channel in ch manager and press list/ok and a smiley face should show up beside the ch you selected. countinue to do this for any stations you want to put into that group. then select fav2 and begin again, re name it etc. when you have done all of your favourites you can clone it onto another box if you have one instead of doing it all over again.
