Yeah well I wasn't going to say the 8800GT gets 0fps because it won't... lol
The HD4850 is very powerful for the price though, sees off any geforce 8 or 9 series single card.

True! But we are discussing the HD-4850-512 and not alternatives that cost way more!

But no one has offered a more expensive alternative like with the PSUs. There, we got into PSUs that cost 4 times as much that had nothing to do with the $29.99 deal that I posted! Here, we are discussing the cards I originally posted! I just don't really see that as OT!

I've managed to track down a Q9550 E0 stepping chip for £250 delivered (sent internationally). That works out only £10 more than the C1 stepping from a real store in the UK. Should I go for it?
edit: Well, I went for it. From anywhere other than ebuyer it's the same price to have a C1 stepping chip, and ebuyer is only £14 less. I've seen some great things from these chips in other boards. I'm well aware I need to get some decent RAM for it, and that will be arranged shortly (2x2GB Corsair Dominator PC2-8500C5). I'm unsure about heat from these chips, but I figure if a 95W Q6600 overvolted by 200mV doesn't overheat, then a Q9550, also 95W, should do fine for at least 100mV over spec - and I've seen some remarkably high overclocks in the 1.3 zone. My one concern though, is that I use an X38 chipset, not P45 or X48. Would that cut the mustard for overclocking a 45nm Quad core chip?

Try www.outpost.com and see if they have it there. This is Fry's online store. The Fry's here in So Cal are sort of like Circuit city, but with more stock. Sometimes they are right up there with cutting edge stuff, but most times they sell some pretty crappy stuff. Not quite as far behind the times as Circuit City, but still usually pretty far from cutting edge components. You can get some good buys there, but you have to know what you want, otherwise you can wind up with some real garbage. Like Circuit City, they have very few people that know very much about the products they sell.

Here's some deals on ODD's if interested.. I've been blamed for many a purchases on ODD's so use this as another 'crutch'. lol. :P
link to ODD's at the EGG
I don't have the new AD-7220 but it's supposed to be a iHAP322 which I'm sure is a decent drive. If it is a Lite-On you can bet that C0deKing and his bunch of "patchers" will make some sort of goody for it. :)

What's with Newegg? No model number listed! You have to look in the specs????
