You bought the new dvdxcopy not the banned version. Now you will have to download a ripper.

Don't jump to conclusions ... even the "banned" ripper versions can't rip the newer movies ... Even the RF version w/ the ripper enabled can't rip the newer movies.
@bigant,
What version did you get?

You are right, but the message you are recieving is telling you "CSS encrypted" and the banned version took care of that. It is the newer Arcoss encrytion and the filling of blank sectors that the older one wont decrypt. CSS was the first encrytion method and it was broken by a kid in Europe 5 years ago. I do not use x-copy but I know people who do and this is what I have understood. You are right I may be jumping to conclutions but I dont think so.

dude, read my post. The banned version(s) ... the ripper versions .... version 4.0.3.8 or before will not rip the newer movies. You will get the css encrypted message.
XCopy is so outdated. Pretty much the only way to use XCopy is to rip w/ DVD Decrypter first then use XCopy v4.0.4.15RF ... because it is the only version where the browse button works.

Well I think so. And if you want to find out ... read threads on this forum: http://dvdxcopy.afterdawn.com

bigant i had that happen too, you have to unload the program and reload it assuming you have DVD X Copy platinum 4.0 3.8 verison and X Copy will do the newer movies all you have to do is run AnyDVD or DVD Region+CSS free in the background

Flip your completey wrong DVD X Copy WILL rip all the newer movies i have done them ALL with X copy with running AnyDVD or region+CSS Free in the background.but i would recomend anyone buying the program at this point in time. DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter are free and do a fine job as well.

aabbccdd,
why don't you actually read my post? I said XCopy will not do the newer movies ... did I say anything about AnyDVD or region+CSS Free .... are those made by 321 Studios or XCopy? Do they come w/ XCopy? The Answer is NO!!!
And using AnyDVD will not work for everybody. Cause I tried, it wouldn't rip some movies.
So before you go off and post Im completely wrong, read what I post.

I'm a novice, and confused now after reading the posts. I have a registered ver 4038 and it worked just fine three or four months ago. Now it backed up one movie and won't on another, citing css as the prob. Both are new releases. I'll keep reading. I also have dvd cloner II, and it's doing the same thing on the same movies. I would like a simple put it in and it works scenario! Anyone? Thanks.

IMHO the easiest put it in and it works scenario is AnyDVD and CloneDVD. AnyDVD can handle all the newest protections and it is updated regularly. You can do a 21 day free trial on these two programs and they are available at slysoft.com.

Thanks, I will try that and see how it works. Hate spending the $ on the others and then can't use them though. Oh well.
