I won't have a problem if Saw V never came out :)

Actually I thought Saw IV started to slip storyline wise and copy protection wise :) Too easy to back up.

Wrong thread sorta :) But sounds like it's a bad disc/bad press.
I'd exchange it for a new one if you can.
Might just want to try decrypter by it's lonesome and see if that does it. It's usually the best one imho for the 'bad' ones.

Sorry about going off on a tangent, but it seemed like there was a lot of chit-chat and knowledgable folks tied to this thread and I didn't want to start a new one for an almost 15 year old DVD.
Please accept my aplogy if it upset anyone, that was not my intent.
BTW, that was the 2nd disc, so it's a legit problem. First time I ever had to admit defeat and settle for just the movie in all these years. Hope nobody else runs across it, a real stumper. I tried the whole arsenal without success. Thanks binkie for the help.
case closed.

copying saw 4 was easy. i used ripit4me and all i did was create a new directory for the target.. when using dvd decryptor it has to keep searching for a new key but when it tells you the key is unavailable just say cancel and then it asks if you want it to use a previous key. say yes. and it will do this a few times but eventually it will get through it. it has duplicate sectors and i think this is why it is so tough.

I have used both dvd fab and dvd fab hd beta to rip and shrink to rip it goes through all this perfect ... but, when disc is put in dvd player it wont play i try to skip a head before it starts then it plays but starts about 5 min before end of movie i hit root menu and it goes back to the last 5 min of movie then plays credits and starts over ....

ripped with dvd fab hd
I just did the fixvts and now im am encoding with shrink after that is done i will try to play it, if its still not working looks like im going to spend the $70+ dollars on anydvd

anydvd has a free trial if you haven't used it yet? also are you sure its not a media problem? make sure your using good blank media like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim burning between 4x and 8x max

Seems the thing varies by region.. n00bman in the shop ripped it straight with ripit and decrypter. No help from me.. they seem to have spent the money on the pointless packaging.
